The Clarion team laced up their trainers and headed to Heaton Park to tackle the 5km ‘MoRun’ this month all in aid of the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation was set up in 2003 with the idea of men growing their moustaches to raise awareness of men’s health problems and illnesses. Since then, the charity has expanded globally and has introduced the ‘MoRun’ event to raise further funds and understanding on the issue.
The foundation bases its self on one main, important goal and that is to ‘stop men dying young’.
The amazing efforts of the Clarion team went to a worthy cause as all the money raised is used to prevent and raise awareness of a number men’s illnesses and mental health problems including, prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide.
The team member taking the ‘fastest runner’ bragging rights was Martin, as he brought out his inner Mo Farah to complete the run in an impressive time of 27 minutes and 12 seconds!
The Clarion runners raised a superb £373 for the cause contributing to the £53,345 raised across the whole country, smashing the charity’s initial target of £50,000 by 106%.
