Our Client has multiple sites across North Wales, all of which had digital CCTV systems installed and working well; however, following incidents on a couple of the sites nearest to their head office, the customer asked if there was a cost-effective way of viewing both these systems.
They wanted to do this without having to install broadband at each location (a method normally used to view remote CCTV systems) as this not only comes with an install cost but also monthly ongoing telephone line rental and broadband costs. As the sites were visible from head office, we decided to use point-to-point secure WiFi links which were very cost-effective and installed in a single day.
Another major benefit of the WiFi links over broadband on this project is the speed at which they transmit the CCTV images; almost 10 times faster than broadband for this application.
