Our customer operates a business park in Bradford and needed to install a new enterprise-grade CCTV system in phases. They approached Clarion in April 2019 and requested a solution to provide complete coverage of the 206,098 sq ft site.
To assist with project costing, we offered a phased approach in order to spread the costs and keep interruption at the business park to an absolute minimum. Throughout the five phases, we enhanced the business park’s entry and exit points by adding CCTV to monitor this location. During the next four phases, additional cameras were deployed to the site to ensure that the whole perimeter, as well as other open places within the business park, were covered, giving the client complete coverage of key areas.
The new system design will allow the vulnerable areas of the site to be protected by movement detectors and cameras with full high-definition images.
The system is controlled by a dedicated enterprise-grade workstation which included a 24-inch HD LED widescreen monitor, surveillance-grade hard drives to store footage and a new 1500VA Smart-UPS (uninterrupted power storage) battery backup unit will be installed within the secure network cabinet. This will allow the new CCTV workstation to shut down safely in the event of a prolonged power outage which prevents damage to the hard drives, it will also provide protection from power surges.
As the client required 24-hour a day monitoring of the business park we installed a new audio system that will allow the monitoring station to offer zoned audio warnings to alarm activations received from a site, this method offers a great deterrent and an extra layer of security to the system.
We recommend clients take out a comprehensive maintenance contract to protect their system and ensure that their investment continues to work for years. Our client understood the need to protect their investment and will receive the following:
- 1 x Preventative maintenance visit per annum.
- Telephone support to assist with minor training issues and basic problem-solving.
- Speedy priority service to ensure swift attendance.
- Reduced labour rates over non-contractual customers.
- Temporary loan equipment (when available) whilst faulty equipment is being assessed.
- A remote diagnostic service (where technically feasible) allows a remote reset of the system.
